Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the FilerFox application ("Application", "FilerFox", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information. FilerFox is a receipt-management app created by Ilro Lee ("Service Provider") and offered as a Freemium service. By using FilerFox you agree to the practices described below.

Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile image from your Google account.

Receipt content (financial data). FilerFox is built to scan and organize receipts. When you photograph or upload a receipt, we collect and store the receipt image and the information extracted from it, which may include the merchant name, transaction date, total and tax amounts, individual line items, payment details printed on the receipt, and the categories and notes you assign. This is personal financial data, and we treat it accordingly.

Usage and diagnostic data. We collect limited technical information to operate and improve the Application, such as your device type and operating system, app version, IP address, and crash and error reports.

Subscription data. If you purchase FilerFox Premium, your purchase and subscription status is processed and stored by our payment providers (see Third-Party Services). We do not collect or store your full credit card or banking details.

We do not collect your device's precise or background location.

How We Use Your Information

• provide the core receipt-scanning, extraction, categorization, and export features;
• create and manage your account and authenticate sign-in;
• process and manage subscriptions and entitlements;
• maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Application;
• respond to your support requests; and
• send you important service notices.

Automated Processing (OCR and AI)

To turn a receipt photo into structured data, the Application processes your receipt images using automated Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and artificial intelligence services. Your receipt images and the text within them are transmitted to and processed by these services solely to extract receipt information and return it to your account. This processing is automated and is performed to deliver the features you request.

Third-Party Services

We share information only as needed to operate the Application, with service providers who process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security obligations. These include:

• Supabase — authentication, database, and storage hosting for your account and receipt data. Privacy Policy
• RevenueCat — subscription management on mobile (iOS and Android). Privacy Policy
• Paddle — payment processing and merchant of record for web checkout. Privacy Policy
• Apple App Store / Google Play — in-app purchase and billing on mobile devices.
• Sentry — crash and error reporting to keep the Application stable. Privacy Policy
• Google Sign-In — optional authentication if you choose to sign in with Google. Privacy Policy
• OCR and AI processing providers — automated extraction of information from receipt images, as described above.

We may also disclose information: as required by law (for example, to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process); when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety or the safety of others, or to investigate fraud; and in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your receipt content for advertising.

Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your account and receipt data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your data at any time:

• In the app: go to Profile → Privacy & Security → Delete Account to permanently delete your account, receipts, categories, and uploaded images. This cannot be undone.
• By email: contact us at contact@fatfox.app and we will delete your data within a reasonable time.

Deleting the Application from your device does not by itself delete the data stored in your account; use the in-app Delete Account option or contact us. Some records may be retained where required by law (for example, payment records held by our payment providers).

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise these rights from within the app or by contacting us at contact@fatfox.app.

Security

We use industry-standard physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted transport, authenticated access, and per-user access controls so that you can only access your own data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and review our practices regularly.

Children

FilerFox is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at contact@fatfox.app and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of changes by updating this page and revising the effective date above. Continued use of the Application after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
